The website offers the random musings of an anxious, expatriate Southerner living in the Pacific Northwest. Its author, Steve White, was born at Back Bay Hospital in Biloxi, Miss, and raised in Gulfport, Miss. He graduated from high school at St. Stanislaus, and studied literature at Loyola University in New Orleans, where he earned his BA. Steve worked in journalism for two decades before returning to school to earn his JD at Lewis and Clark Law School. He currently practices public finance law in his adopted home city of Portland, Oregon.
